L J Walker

L J Walker, 91 of Lampasas, TX died Friday January 15, 2016 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. L J was born November 5, 1924 in the Browning community of Lampasas County. He married Laverne Meyers June 17, 1944. L J was a civil service employee for 39 years, responsible for heavy equipment operations at Ft. Hood. He served in the military and was a member of the American Legion and First Baptist Church in Lampasas. He loved horse racing, looking at bluebonnets, dogs, country music and ranching. Survivors include his sister, Claudean Bear and numerous nieces and nephews. L J was preceded in death by his parents, wife and by one niece and one nephew. Visitation will be Tuesday January 19, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. and funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Smith Cemetery Kempner.
