Mary Nell Redden Donelson passed away peacefully on Thursday January 7, 2016 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident since August. She was born August 10, 1926 near Shive in Hamilton County, Texas to Forrest Winston Redden and Mary Alice (Shipp) Redden. She attended the Union School through 7th grade and four years at Hamilton High School, where she graduated as Valedictorian in 1943. She was employed at Midland Army Air Field and on April 8th, 1944 she married Seth B. Donelson DVM. Soon after their marriage they moved to Lampasas, where he practiced Veterinary Medicine and she assisted him in the office. Mary is survived by one daughter, Diane Frank of Adamsville; one son and daughter in law, Randy and Karon (Bo) Donelson of Fort Worth. Grandchildren: Joe Don Cowan and wife Sherri of Granbury; Cayce Anne Morse and husband Mike of Pearsall; and Teresa Anne Frank of Colorado Springs, CO. Great grandchildren are Holli Fowler Williams and husband Andrew; Maci Jo Cowan, and Cole Morse. One great-grandchild: Emmelene Adora Williams. She is also survived by a sister in law, Kay Redden; sisters: Mabel Kemp and Doris Love, and a brother in law, Thomas Glenn Darling. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mary was preceded in death by her husband on October 1, 1993, by her son in law Edward Frank, by a brother, Joe Redden, and a sister, Evelyn Darling. A private family service was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016. She was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. The families request memorials be made to a favorite charity.
