Ruby Schaub, 99, of Lampasas died January 10, 2016 at Rollins-Brook Hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Elvis Fischer officiating.
Ruby was born February 17, 1916 at Lockhart, Texas to Thomas Edgar Petty and Minnie Alma Fischer. When she and her twin sister were two years old, the family moved, by horse drawn wagon, from Red Rock near Lockhart to Coryell County. Ruby grew up in Coryell County until her marriage to George O. Schaub on February 17, 1937. She was employed as a bookkeeper for W.F. & J.F. Barnes Lumber Company until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting and having garage sales.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Charles Schaub and an infant daughter. Her two brothers and four sisters also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Brent Schaub and wife Linda Gail, two grandsons and two great grandsons, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby was a member of the First Street Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
