Ruben Valadez

Ruben Michael Valadez, age 69 of Lampasas, TX died Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Spring Oaks Nursing and Rehab. Ruben was born April 8, 1946 in Lampasas, TX the son of Maximo C. Valadez and Eva (Alvarado) Valadez. Ruben was a welder by trade, but music was his life. He started playing the bass at the age of 14. For 51 years he played with many bands and musicians, and traveled many miles. His music career ended with him doing his last run with his grandsons. He was proud that his love of music was being carried on. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Lupe Valadez of Lampasas Daughters, Becky Perez and husband Mike of Lampasas Rachael Flanigan and husband Patrick of Nix Grandchildren; Erica, Lugo, and Eric Perez, and Andrea White Great-grandchildren; Emma Rubio, Aydan Dooley, Ryla Perez, Hedrix Dooley, Quade Perez, and Rhett Perez Ruben was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Valadez, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and his grandson, Anthony Dewayne Valadez White. Rosary will be recited Friday, January 8, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
