Vela Booker

Vela F. Booker, 95 of Lampasas, TX died Saturday January 2, 2016 at her home. Vela was born March 1, 1920 in Star, TX the daughter of Charles L. Stephan and Vivian (Perkins) Stephan. She married Vance Alvin Booker and had lived in this area all of her life. Vela was an avid quilter, a member of Busy Bee Quilting Club. She loved helping people and Lometa community while serving as Director of Lometa Senior Center for 35 years. She was a member of Community Church in Lampasas. Survivors include 2 daughters; Linda Miller and husband Jimmy (Shorty) Miller of Burnet Gloria Bowmer of Lampasas Sister, Nelma Faust of Kansas City, MO Brother, Charles Van Stephan and wife Ruby of Weatherford Grandchildren; Kevin Churchwell (Barbara), Kathie Miller, Amber Jackson (Hayes), Bryan Hall (Ruth), Steve Hall (Sunny), Ron Hall (Debbie), Paul Hall (Creshia) Great-grandchildren; Sarena Ringstaff (Josh), Chance Webb (Reggie), Larry Holybee (Sarah), Keely Shaw, Matthew Shaw, Taight Jackson, Tiffany Barbosa, Joseph Hall, Payton Meyer, Kyle Hall, Robert Hall, Riley Hall, Sloan Hall Great great-grandchildren; Levi Ringstaff, Carson Ringstaff, Hunter Ringstaff, Addie Jane Ringstaff, Cooper Churchwell, Case Churchwell, Emily Holybee, Brylee Holybee. Vela was preceded in death by her husband and parents and by grandson, Lyndon Bruce Churchwell. Visitation will be Tuesday January 5, 2016 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday January 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Sneed Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements
