Ila Fay Wadkins Hodges was born July 26, 1930 in Georgetown, Texas. She attended school in Bethel, Briggs, and Lometa, Texas. She graduated in Lometa in 1947 and then attended Jackson Business School in Lampasas. While she was working at the Lampasas County Veterans Vocational School, she met her husband, A.G. Hodges. They were married in 1952. They lived in South Texas before moving back to Lampasas in 1962 and opening the Country Kitchen. They owned and managed the Country Kitchen until 1976 where she decorated many different kinds of cakes for showers and children’s birthdays. She attended the First Street Church of Christ where she taught bible class. She was a housewife and kept children. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and her husband. She is survived by one son, A.G. Hodges Jr. and wife Sue from Seguin, Texas, one daughter, Terrie Raish and husband Kerry of Lampasas, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Terry Wadkins and wife Linda of Burnet, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Groves Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to New Century Hospice, or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
