Easter Reynolds Hibler 97, formerly of Lampasas/Kempner, passed from this life, in Friendswood, Texas, on December 1, 2015 with her daughter by her side.
She worked at Producers Produce Plant during WWII candling eggs for the war effort. She later went to work at the commissary at Fort Hood. She met and married PFC Woodrow Wilson who was stationed at Fort Hood. They had one daughter.
Woodrow preceded her in death.
Easter was the owner-operator of Cash Grocery on the east side of the courthouse square in downtown Lampasas. The original store was destroyed in the flood of 1957. A new building was built and the business continued in that same location. She was in business over 41 years. She loved her many customers and maintained friendships with many of them long after retirement.
In 1964 Easter married Melvin Hibler and they moved to Kemper.
After retirement she became an avid daily walker. At age 89 she was still walking 6 miles a everyday. After his death in 2008 she moved to Brazoria, TX to live with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her father P.B. Reynolds, also her mother Viola Reynolds, who also lived to be 97 years old.
Also preceded by her three brothers, Noble Reynolds, Phillip (Son) Reynolds, and Tommy Reynolds, her four sisters, Novella (Tot) Bear,
Nora Hibler, Alice Clark, and Lorean Guess
She is survived by her daughter Doris Wilson Buchanan of Brazoria, TX, grandson Jeff Heidaker and wife Stacy of Lake Jackson, TX,
grandson Kurt Buchanan of Brazoria, TX. Also surviving are 3 great-grandsons, Collin Heidaker of San Marcos, TX, Nolan Heidaker of Lake Jackson, TX and Patrick Shows of Lake Jackson. Also surviving is
son-in-law, Roy Buchanan of Brazoria, TX.
Visitation will be Monday December 7, 2015 from 10 to 11 am. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oatmeal Cemetery.
