Celia Acosta

Born Celia Calamaco de Gonzales on April 6, 1928 in Villa Acuna Coahuila. She died Thurs 10-29-2015 at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. She married Ignacio Garcia Acosta Sr. on Feb 21, 1949. They wanted to make a better life for themselves and their children, so they came to the United States in 1950. They moved to various towns in South Texas until they found a place they would call home, Lampasas. Celia was a dedicated housewife and mother. She raised 6 children; Juanita Jass, Estella Morua, Leticia Medina, Cecilia Salazar, Jose Acosta and Ignacio Acosta Jr. She loved being a Mother, she will always live in the hearts of those who loved her so. 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Fri 10-30-2015 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Sat 10-31-2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994. Memorials may be made to the Hospice Agency of your choice.
