O.G. Powell
May 21, 1925-October 22, 2015
O.G. Powell was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was native to the Lampasas area where he lived, raised his family and worked. O.G. married Nadine Haedge on December 21, 1949. In 1976, the Powell’s moved to Kempner, where they farmed and ranched for the next 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Olin and Ida Powell, and his siblings; Raymond Powell, Laverne McDonald, Maurice Powell and Marcus Powell as well as an infant son.
O.G. is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nadine Powell, his daughters Jan Henderson of San Antonio, and Kay and her husband Mike Richardson of Lampasas. Grandchildren are Breanne Henderson, Zane Richardson, and Kenneth Richardson.
O.G. served in the U.S. Army during World War II. O.G. worked as an artillery repairman at Ft. Hood and retired from civil service after 32 years. After retiring, he worked at Agro-Tech for several years. O.G. had a passion for dominos and could be seen at the Lampasas VFW or wherever a good game could be found.
Visitation for Mr. Powell will be on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Kempner Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the charity of ones choice.
