Allen Ray Yanta, 64 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday September 20, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. Allen was born June 13, 1951 in Karnes City, TX, the son of Thomas John Yanta and Louise H. (Moczygemba) Yanta. He grew up in Karnes City, and later attended and graduated from South West Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in history and a Master’s degree in education with social studies composite. Mr. Yanta taught for 34 years, in Lampasas and Copperas Cove combined, and was the owner and director of Quality Driving School of Cove for 19 years. He also taught CCD at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 10 years. He loved his family, and spending time on the family ranch in South Texas.

Brothers; Martin Yanta and wife Dorothy of Karnes City
Clarence Yanta and wife Donna of Karnes City
Sister in law, Karen Yanta
Grandchildren; Kristian, Liam, Rachel, Bethany, and Rebekah
And several nieces and nephews
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers; Alvin and Larry Yanta, and an infant child.
A viewing for Mr. Yanta will be held Friday September 25, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Funeral service will be Saturday September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
