Mary Jane Sieber

Mary Jane McBride Sieber, 64, of Lampasas, died Tuesday, August 25th at her home following a struggle with lung cancer. She was born September 27, 1950 in O’Donnell, Texas to O.C. and Ethel McBride. She and her family moved to Littlefield, Texas, where she and her sisters graduated from Littlefield High School. Mary Jane graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in education. Much later she graduated from the University of Houston with a Masters in Social Work. As an LCSW/ACP she worked in child and family therapy in Houston. Mary Jane eventually returned to Littlefield to act as primary caregiver to her mother and stepfather until their deaths. She moved to Lampasas in 2009 to help open Snap Fitness with her sister, Katherine. Many came to know and appreciate her fine wit and sweet spirit. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Buck Burditt, and sister Barbara. She is survived by the following: sisters Marcia Roberts of Alpine and Katherine Compton of Lampasas; brother in law David Compton; niece Sarah Key Webster and her husband Ben of Austin; nephew Micah Key of New York City; and stepdaughter Crista Ritz of Hennessey, Oklahoma.
