Dorman Monroe Mahana, age 84 of Lampasas, TX died Friday August 7, 2014 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. Dorman was born January 31, 1931 near Evant, TX the son Monroe Leviticus Mahana and Thelma Lucille (Elam) Mahana. Dorman attended schools in Kempner and graduated from Lampasas High School. He served in the United States Navy for 3 years. His first wife was Shane Mahana, she preceded him in death. He later married Louise Sutton. Dorman worked for U.S. Civil Service in the electrical engineering department for over 30 years. His knowledge of electrical work and air conditioning and refrigeration also allowed him to help locals with repairs. As a young man he ran both the Leroy Theater and the drive in. He also drove the bus for the Senior Center and other individuals that needed help in getting to Dr. appointments. He was very active in Boy Scout Troops for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion.

2 sisters; Joy Bishop of Maryville, TN and Judy Horne of Grapevine, TX
1 step-daughter, Julie Sutton of Houston
4 step-sons; Duane Sutton and wife Caroline of Cave Springs, GA
Ronnie Sutton and wife Vickki, Bob Sutton and wife Shirley, and Randy Sutton and wife Rebecca all of Lampasas
Daughter-in-law, Marilinda Walters of Lampasas
Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Dorman was preceded in death by his parents and by his first wife Shane, by 2 sons; Gary Mahana and Michael Mahana and by his step-grandson, Jason Walters.
Visitation will be Sunday August 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted on Monday August 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the First Street or Broad Street Church of Christ, American Heart Association or Boy Scouts.
