William (Red) Wilkinson

William Edwin (Red) Wilkinson, age 92 of Lampasas, TX died Thursday June 18, 2015 at a local nursing home. William was born August 23, 1922 in Bertram, TX the son of Quincey N. Wilkinson and Lizzie (Klose) Wilkinson. He graduated from Lampasas High School. His first wife, Elaine preceded him in death. He later married Alma and she also preceded him in death. Red owned Wilkinson Ditching Service for many years and worked in the utility contracting business. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved watching horse racing and hummingbirds. Survivors are daughter, Sharon Harris of Harker Heights 2 granddaughters; Carrie Beaird and husband Justin and Cristal Wilkinson 2 great-granddaughters; Sidney and Shelby Brother, James Wilkinson Several nieces and nephews also survive Daughter-in-law, Annabel Wilkinson Red was preceded in death by 3 sons; James Donald Wilkinson, William Dean (Bill) Wilkinson and Kenneth Ray Wilkinson and by 1 brother and by 2 sisters. Visitation will be Saturday June 20, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m at Sneed Funeral Chapel and funeral service will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Memorials may be sent to Gentiva Hospice or American Diabetes Association.
