Jason A. Monroe, age 41, of Lampasas, TX died Saturday April 18, 2015 at home. Jason was born April 22, 1973 at Ft. Hood, TX the son of Ted A. Monroe and Patricia (Phillips) Gyllenskog. Jason spent the majority of his youth in Lampasas and attended High School in San Diego, CA. After graduation, he moved back to Lampasas. He met and fell in love with Mia in 2000. They were married September 16, 2000. On October 7, 2004, their greatest joy was born, a son, Declan. Many afternoons were enjoyed by Jason and Declan as they bonded, not only as father and son but as buddies too. They played basketball, soccer, and rode bikes. Known for his sense of humor, intellect and industriousness, Jason tried his very best to be a strong father, supportive husband and loving head of family. Jason loved to start and engage in numerous projects working with is hands. With Mia’s devotion and support, Jason was able to work and obtain his Master Plumber’s license in 2013 and start his own company. He enjoyed making furniture, cycling and taking long treks through Lampasas County. He was an avid reader and well rounded on a variety of subjects and could hold a conversation with anyone on any subject, including God’s word, the Bible.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Jason’s body will be cremated.
