LaVerne Arpino

LaVerne B. Arpino, age 78 of Lampasas, Texas died Sunday April 19, 2015 at Brister Care Home in Lometa. LaVerne was born October 16, 1936 in Connerville, OK the daughter of Ernest Smith and Effie Smith. She grew up in Tupelo, OK and moved to Texas when she was 16. She had lived in the area since 1968. LaVerne worked for the Burnet and Alvin school districts as a cafeteria worker. Survivors include sons, Gene Schilling Jr. and wife Ina Maye of Marble Falls James Schilling and wife Tana of Llano Daughter, Glinda Thorp and husband Jay of Lampasas Brothers, Bill Smith, David Smith, and Valdean Smith of Oklahoma Sister, Dorothy Bailey of Oklahoma 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild She was preceded in death by her husband, and by her siblings, Frances Young, Pat Bohanon, Sue Bailey, Eugene Smith, and Bobby Smith. Graveside services for Mrs. Arpino will be held on Thursday April 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Burnet City Cemetery in Burnet, Texas.
