Bobbie Dellis Joseph of Lampasas, formerly of Waxahachie, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 17, 2015 at an Austin Hospital. Bobbie was born on June 9, 1929 in San Saba County to Olon Wilkes Dellis and Iris Hardin Dellis. She spent her early years in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1947. She later attended Texas State College for Women which is now known as Texas Women's University. Bobbie married Louis John Joseph Jr. after his return from service in World War II at her parent's home in Lampasas on December 28, 1949, and remained married for 63 years until her loving husband's death on January 10, 2013. Bobbie and Louis lived in Taylor, Texas, and then relocated to New York City for several years. They raised their two children, Michael and Melissa, in Waxahachie, Texas. Bobbie and Louis came home to Lampasas, and spent their remaining years together, close to family. Bobbie was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, the Pierian Club , the Thursday Luncheon Club and the Junior Service League in Waxahachie. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband Louis John Joseph, Jr., daughter Melissa Ann (Joseph) Schutze, her grandson Samuel Julian Schutze, and her younger brother Donald Olon Dellis.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her son, Michael Louis Joseph and his wife, Linda of Lampasas; her grandchildren: Andrew Joseph, Catherine Joseph Schafer and her husband Trevor, Paige Schutze, and Jake Schutze. Her sister-in-law June Dellis, her sister Barbara Williamson and husband Don, her sister Deborah Kuczek and husband John, her sister Rebecca Clapp and husband David, and her sister-in-law Marlene Joseph Glade and husband Bill. Bobbie will also be missed by ten nieces and nephews who loved and respected her.
A memorial service for Bobbie Nell (Dellis) Joseph will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Lampasas, Texas. Sneed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church or Lampasas Public Library Foundation.
