Robert L. Clayton, age 72 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday December 21, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. Robert was born in Nassau County, New York the son of Ruth Ellerby April 30, 1942. He married Teri Green on December 8, 1964. Robert served in the United States Army for 22 ½ years in a variety of stations; Germany, Korea, Hawaii, Virginia and North Carolina. After retiring from the Army, he worked as a diesel mechanic for local feed mill and later owned and operated Clayton’s Furniture, Antiques and Appliances in Lampasas. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandson, Hunter Craig Clayton
Rosary will be recited Tuesday December 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday December 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas with Father Pedro Castillo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors.
