Britt Baxter Hopson, age 60 of Kempner, TX died Monday November 10, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. Britt was born June 8, 1954 in Victoria, TX the son of Otis Shirley Hopson and Ida Jo (Broyles) Hopson. Britt graduated from Lampasas High School in 1973 and received training as a meat cutter at TSTI in Waco. He worked as a butcher in Llano for several years. He was a rancher and worked at Lampasas Cattle Auction. Britt married Myrlann Moore on September 5, 1981. He loved being with his family, working with show animals, hunting, and roping. He was a friend to many people. He served as a director for the Lampasas County Youth Livestock Association. Survivors include wife, Myrlann Hopson of Kempner Daughters; Misty Hallisey and husband Mark (their children; Brooke and Cameron) all of O’Fallon, MO Monica Wykes and husband Jason (their children; Brogan and Sydni) of Lampasas Sons; Chad Hopson and wife Christina (their children; Braeden, Avery and Bry) of Kempner Chase Hopson and wife Carah (their child, Chance) of Lampasas Mother, Jo Holley of Kempner Sisters; Shirlene Bishop and husband Al of Edwards, CO Chris Whorley and husband Jim of Temple Brother, Hilton Hopson and wife Demar of Lampasas Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Britt was preceded in death by his father, Otis Hopson and by his step-father, Bill Holley. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 14, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Fellowship.
