Josephine (Josie) Knox, age 100 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday September 14, 2014 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. Josie was born June 20, 1914 3 miles south of Indiahoma, OK. the daughter of Joe Gomez and Anna (Hiebert) Gomez. Josie was a homemaker, taught high school Spanish for 2 years and loved to serve the Lord. She was a missionary on the Navajo reservation for 19 years, serving in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Josie was a member of the First Street Church of Christ, and had lived in Lampasas since 1987. Survivors include her daughter, Anita Hayward and husband Dennis of Glendale, AZ Sons, Rusty Knox and wife Sharon of Lampasas Don Knox of Lampasas Daughter in law, Jay Knox of Manassas, VA 9 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. “Skip” Knox, her son, Neal Knox, and by her great-great-granddaughter, Josie Maria Bushman. Visitation for Mrs. Knox will be held on Thursday September 18, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday September 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at First Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Post Oak Indian Cemetery in Indiahoma, OK on Saturday September 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Home for Children 13355 State Highway 16, Cherokee, TX 76832
