Luella Elizabeth Atkinson

Luella Elizabeth Atkinson, age 82 of Lampasas, TX died Saturday August 16, 2014 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lampasas. Luella was born May 1, 1932 in Youngsport, TX the daughter of Loverd W. Mitchell and Mary M. (Boyd) Mitchell. She graduated from Killeen High School. Luella had worked for Central Telephone Co. as an operator for a number of years and then retired. She married Harrell Atkinson July 31, 1953 in Canyon, and they had lived in Copperas Cove, Florence and Lampasas. Luella was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas, where she enjoyed Triple L activities and being a part of WMU. She helped with Meals on Wheels. She and Harrell raised their family here in Lampasas county. Survivors include her children; Wesley Atkinson and wife Lori of Kempner Mike Atkinson and wife Cindy of Lampasas Joni Summers and husband Donnie of Kempner Sister, Eva Ann Perry of Harker Heights Grandchildren; Paula Vassaur, Ben Atkinson, Jodi Atkinson, Tanner Dewald, Jake Dewald, Lauren Lockhart, Emily Wilson, Lucas Atkinson, Sam Summers, Dalton Summers and Doss Summers. Great-grandchildren; Lane Lockhart, Paxton Lockhart, Allyson Lockhart, Lane Atkinson, Meryn Vassaur, Jayden Dewald and Jase Summers. Numerous nieces and nephews Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Harrell Atkinson in 2001 and by 4 siblings. Visitation for Mrs. Luella Atkinson will be on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
