Ervin Lester Nichols

Ervin Lester Nichols, age 88 of Evant, TX died Friday August 15, 2014 at his residence in Evant. Ervin was born July 14, 1926 in Ada, OK the son of Claude Leslie Nichols and Flora Belle (Kelch) Nichols. He served in the U.S. Army in the military explosive ordnance and the atomic weapons ordnance. Ervin served 23 years, from Aug of 1946 through Dec of 1969. He retired as Master Sergeant. Survivors include his son, Claude Lester Nichols (Theresa) of Midwest City, OK Sister, Ethel Mae Hill Sister-in-law, Violet Nichols Ex-Daughter-in-law, Cheryl Nichols 11 Grandchildren 22 Great grandchildren 4 Great – great grandchildren. Ervin was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Iretta (Townsend) Nichols. Visitation for Mr. Nichols will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 10-1 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Masonic rites by Beehouse Lodge and full military honors.
