Reid Baize Schaub

Reid Baize Schaub, 77 of Lampasas passed away at home surrounded by his family Monday, June 9, 2014. Reid was born March 5, 1937 in Gatesville, TX the son of Herman August Schaub and Quimma Pearl (Baize) Schaub. He grew up in Gatesville and graduated High School there in 1955. He attended Texas Tech University and later attended ministerial training school. Reid married Neta Ruth Shirley June 29, 1956 in Gatesville. He worked at a variety of jobs including a nuclear fuel plant, the Texas Highway Department, Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., and a long haul truck driver and transportation manager. His father painted and hung wall paper and taught his sons the trade which served all three throughout their lives. But his life work was serving God and the Community of Lampasas as a minister for decades at Broad Street Church of Christ and Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Neta Schaub of Lampasas 2 sons; Craig Schaub of Wimberly and Roland Schaub of Lampasas 2 daughters; Melodi Jackson Valori Ervin both of Lampasas 2 brothers; Edward Schaub of Gatesville Ron Schaub of Nacogdoches Sister, Bobbie Courtney of Fort Worth Grandchildren;Monica, Reid, Luke, Cord, Corby, Cayle, Jacob, Kait, BenG., Shawna, Matt, Markus, Jerome, Jason, Kimberly, Ben R., Leslie, Jarrett, Kendal, Jack and Mesha. great-grandchildren; Lina, Mason, Tatum, Jaxon, Kingsley, Hannah, Coy, Olivia, Sean, Austin, Jenna, Ethan, William, Oliver, Jovi, Lou, Leni, Braydon and Paisley. Reid was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Betty Ann Schaub and by an infant grandson, Elijah Blane McDonald. Funeral services for Reid Schaub will be held on Thursday June 12, 2014 at 2:30 pm at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
