Hollie Miller

Hollie V. Miller, age 97 of Lampasas, TX passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Spring Oaks Nursing and Rehab. Hollie was born September 1, 1916 in Okay, TX, which is now known as Gray Air Force Base in Bell County. She was the daughter of I.B. “Bert” and Dovie “Dick” Bell. Hollie married Joe Miller December 18, 1953 in Lampasas, at the First Baptist Church, by the Reverend Mac Cole. Hollie was converted and joined the Methodist Church in July of 1931. After moving to Lampasas, she joined the First Baptist Church. Hollie was a retired telephone operator. She worked at Camp Hood and then moved to Lampasas, and worked in the office here until she retired. She didn’t have any children but was indeed a blessing to and loved all her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, mother and father, two brothers, Denny and Bud, and her nephew, Tommy Medart. Survivors include her sisters: Elwanda Medart of Pottsboro Jane Richards of Georgetown Yvonne Harton and husband Harold of Lampasas And a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews Funeral services for Hollie Miller will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Kempner Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the First Baptist Church in Lampasas.
