John Charles Horton

John Charles Horton, age 70 of Oakalla, TX died Saturday April 26, 2014 at Hill Country Nursing Center in Copperas Cove, TX. He was born July 12, 1943 in Shreveport, LA the son of Weldon Smith Horton and Betty (Byrne) Horton. John worked for Southwestern Bell which later became A.T. and T. as a repair technician. He lived in Austin for many years. John married Mary Ann Herzik June of 1968. John enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Austin Diocese.   Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Horton of Oakalla Son, John Douglas Horton and wife Debbie of Red Rock Brother, Paul Horton and wife Joyce of Sunrise Beach Sisters; Sue Milburn and husband Mark of Georgetown Nita Thomas and husband Jim of Jonestown Grandchildren; Brandy Horton, Jayden Horton, Jacob Horton, Ashley Cruz and her husband Ronnie, Megan Keel and her husband Jason Great grandchildren; Nathaniel Keel and Lynnex Cruz Several nieces and nephews     Funeral services for Mr. Horton will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Kempner Cemetery. Rosary will be Thursday May 1, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
