Jean Withers

January 27, 1931 — April 12, 2014

  Jean Ryan Withers, a resident of Lampasas, died in her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014.  Jean was born on January 27, 1931 in Ranger, Texas.  She has been a resident of Lampasas since 1965, and was the owner and operator of Jean's Cafe from 1974 to 1991.    She is survived by her daughter Donna Laymon and husband Bobby of Muskogee, OK, son David Withers and wife Sharon of Lampasas, daughter Linda Spurlin of San Antonio, son Charlie Gant and wife Kay of Rio Frio, son Tommy Withers of Adamsville, daughter-in-law Kay Gant of Kyle, daughter Katie Withers of Lampasas, son Ronald Withers and wife Charmie of Lampasas, son Sam Withers of Lampasas, son Bill Withers and wife Charlene of Gatesville, daughter Sandra Roe of Robert Lee, daughter Leasa Arms of Lampasas, son Russell Gant of Lampasas, son Steven Gant of Lampasas; 55 grandchildren, 127 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a great number of kids who spent more time at her home than at theirs growing up.     She was preceeded in death by her Husband, Earl Withers, Son, Leroy Gant, granddauther, Rohni Spurlin, her parents, Ted and Etoile Ryan, 1 brother, and 2 sisters   The family will have a memorial service to remember Jean’s life on May 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church (1.5 miles south of Lampasas on Hwy 183).       In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude's Cancer Research (1-800-241-GIFT).
