Kathryn Word

Kathryn Word, age 85 of Lampasas, TX died Saturday February 8, 2014 at the William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, TX. Kathryn was born October 21, 1928 in Lampasas County, TX the daughter of Howard Ellis Reagan and Alma Bernice (Collier) Reagan. She grew up in the area and graduated high school and later graduated from Jackson Business College. She married Charlie Word December 9, 1947 in Lampasas, TX. Kathryn was raised in the Methodist Church and after she married joined the Central Christian Church. Kathryn worked for HEB Grocery store and retired as General Manager. After retirement she volunteered at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital and worked some back at HEB. As a young lady she was dispatcher for Lampasas Volunteer Fire Dept. She is survived by son, Dr. Kenneth Word and wife Betty of Brownwood, TX 3 daughters; Darla Rogers and husband Tommy of Temple Kathy Valles of Florence Cynthia Hobizal and husband Dennis of Temple Brother, Howard Wayne Reagan and wife Suzanne of Houston Sister, Kitty Ware and husband Ted of valley Mills 10 grandchildren; Christa, Joshua, Jason, Tyson, Nicole, Autumn, Brady, Jeramie, Heather, Hannah 14 great-grandchildren; Alacia, Reagan, Audrie, Shealan, Jack, Trent, Beau, Davis, Haley, Isaiah, Amari, Grant, Reed, Luke. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Charles Frank Hernandez and by son-in-law, Manuel Valles. Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday February 11, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
