Bud Harris

Forrest Dale “Bud” Harris, 80 of Lometa, Texas passed away peacefully at his home Monday December 30, 2013. He was born February 6, 1933 in Lometa, TX the son of Dee. H. Harris and Mary Frances (Towerton) Harris. Bud was a loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He worked as a rancher, cattle buyer and loved riding a good horse, raising sheep and experiencing the beauty of the good Lord’s creation. Bud served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Survivors are wife Fannie Jo (Brooks) Harris of Lometa Daughter, Terri Lynn Harris of Lometa Grandson, Shane Harris Laughlin and wife Lyncie Great-grandson, Axle Harris Laughlin Granddaughter, Brooke Ashley Harris of Austin Brother, William Dee Harris of Tombaugh He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Gene Harris and only son, Kenneth Dee Harris. A funeral service for Bud Harris will be held Saturday January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lometa Church of Christ with burial to follow at Center Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday Jan 3, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donation be sent to West Texas Boy’s Ranch in Bud’s memory.
