June Carroll

June Carroll, age 92 of Lampasas, TX died Friday December 20, 2013 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. June was born April 21, 1921 in Izoro, TX the son Zack Carroll and Jewell Loraine (Morris) Carroll. He married Mary Anne Gage on June 1, 1961 in Lampasas, TX. June served in the U.S. Army during WWII; he was a part of the D-Day invasion of Normandy. During his time of service, his awards included 4 Bronze Stars and 2 Purple Hearts. After his return from WWII, June owned and operated a local wrecking yard. Survivors include his daughters: Verne Anne Hurst of Temple, TX Mary Carroll Earnest of Temple, TX Sons: Robert Carroll of Lampasas, TX David Carroll of Lampasas, TX Paul Carroll of Temple, TX Grandchildren: Tammy Carroll Martin, Robert Eugene Carroll, Vicky Carroll Peters, Amanda Carroll, Kevin Carroll, Ashley Carroll, and Kyla June Earnest. June was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, several brothers and sisters, and his grandson: Royce Dale Brown. A graveside service will be held for Mr. Carroll on Monday December 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillsdale Cemetery in Coryell County.
