John A. Rathman

John Anthony Rathman, age 65 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday November 10, 2013 at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. John was born August 13, 1948 in Lampasas, the son of Robert Bartel Rathman and Mamie Marie (Smith) Rathman. John was a firefighter and later served as Fire Chief and City Fire Marshall from 1981 until 1997. He was a member of the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshall’s Association. John was raised in the Catholic Faith. Survivors include son, David Rathman of Lampasas Daughters; Kellie Butts of Lampasas Lexi Roviso of Midland 3 grandchildren; Kobe Jones, Dylan Jones and Taylor Roviso 2 sisters; Faye Mullins and Ann Hughes of Lampasas John was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Raymond Floyd “Mike “ Rathman. Visitation for John will be on Thursday November 14, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. John’s body will be cremated and his ashes buried later at Oak Hill Cemetery.
