Dr. John Tom (Tommy) Higgins III, age 61, of Lampasas, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2013. Dr. Higgins was born on September 5, 1952 to Faye (Dixon) Higgins and John Tom Higgins Jr. He was a graduate of Lampasas High School and The University of Texas at Austin. He studied abroad and received his Medical Degree from UAG School of Medicine in 1982. After working at Prince George Hospital in Maryland, he returned to Texas and has been in private practice since 1988. Dr. Higgins was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a Lifetime Member of the Texas Exes - he loved to watch the Longhorns play football.
He is survived by his mother, Faye Higgins of Lampasas, two sisters, Karla Higgins Lancaster of Lampasas and Abbie Higgins Crenwelge and spouse, Dale Crenwelge of Comfort, Texas. As well as his loving nieces, Alandra Teadorescu and her spouse Danny, Cameron Crenwelge, Peyton Crenwelge, and his nephew Brandon Lancaster, spouse Patti, and his great niece, Mia.
Dr. Higgins was preceded in death by his father, John Tom Higgins Jr.
A visitation for Mr. Higgins will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 9:15a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.; services will follow at Sneed Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX.
