Lou Lemons

Mildred Louise (Lou) Lemons was born on April 29, 1935 in Brownwood, TX and died on August 15, 2013 in Navasota, TX. The daughter of Willis Hinkle Green and Willie Marene Anderson Green, she married T.S. Lemons Jr. on June 17, 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons; Rusty and Rockie Lemons, and a granddaughter; Leann Lemons. She is survived by one son, Rickie Lemons and wife Donna of Carlos, TX, grandson Curtis Lemons and wife Cydney of College Station, TX, granddaughters LaShonda and husband Steven Keen of Bryan, TX, Angela and husband Brock Welsh of Broken Arrow, OK, and Amanda and husband Rodney Sechelski of Anderson, TX, great grandsons Cole, Kyle, Carson, and Nolan, great granddaughters Holliann and Ashlyn. She is also survived by a brother, David Green of Olive Hurst, CA, two sisters, Judy and husband Larry Allen and Paula Green of Bangs, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Louise and her husband lived on the Lemons Ranch in Bend, moving to the Lometa area after the ranch sold in 1982. Louis remained in the Lometa area until her failing health forced her to relocate closer to her family in Grimes County. Louise was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lometa. Lou was a homemaker, loving mother/grandmother loyal friend, and a dedicated arts and crafts practitioner. Many of the young girls of the surrounding communities had their Barbie dolls outfitted by “Fashions by Lou”. Christmas decorations were her passion and anyone visiting her home around the holidays could attest to the fact. Visitation for Lou will be held on Sunday August 18, 2013 from 2-4p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be on Monday August 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lometa. Burial will follow at High Valley Cemetery in San Saba, TX. Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Lometa.
