Myron Arthur Johnson, 77, Kempner, Texas, and formerly of Granville, North Dakota died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Minot, North Dakota.
Myron was born September 12, 1935 in Granville, to Arthur and Mabel (Latendresse) Johnson. He was one of 12 children, was reared and educated in Granville, and received his G.E.D. while serving in the military.
Myron married Joyce Lund on July 9, 1957. Myron was a veteran of the Korean War and served for 12 years in the Army until he received his honorable discharge while stationed at Ft. Hood. Following his discharge, he became a successful businessman in Killeen as the owner of Myron’s Office World, with four stores in the Temple-Lampasas area.
Myron is survived by eight children: Jef Johnson, Judy Austin, Lonnie Johnson, Layne Johnson, Edward Johnson, Elizabeth Barajas, Janet Clayton, and Patti Johnson. He also has 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and eight surviving brothers and sisters; Earling, Myrtle, Leroy, Butch, Carol, Darlene, Vernon, and Sally.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, brothers Ronnie and Bud, and sister Arline.
Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday July 23, 2013 at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
A funeral mass for Myron Johnson will be held on Wednesday July 24, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas. Burial will follow at the Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen at 2:00 p.m.
