Ira Lee Rutledge, age 95, entered into heaven on June 23, 2013. When he left this world he was surrounded by his family. His life’s journey began in Lake Victor on July 6, 1917. He was the only child of Ira William Rutledge and Emma Lee (Hamilton) Rutledge. While home on a three day furlow during the weekend of March 12, 1943 he married the love of his life, Ruth Inez Kuykendoll. He was proud to have served as a medic during WWII. After the war he and Ruth lived in several places before settling back in Lake Victor. The next exciting moments on his path of life took him to fatherhood. He was blessed with three sons: Larry Rutledge, Neal Rutledge, and Cody Rutledge. He enjoyed his life as a rancher. He had sheep and cattle. He sold eggs. He had a special liquid feed mixture that he sold to other area ranchers. He also had a business on the old store at Midway for about 17 years; anything to make a dollar.
