Dorothy I. McElhannon

Dorothy Irene McElhannon, age 81 of Kempner, Texas died Thursday April 18, 2013 at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Dorothy was born January 8, 1932 in Sandwich, MA the daughter of Evo Renzi and Ida (Papi) Renzi. She worked at Laughlin Air Force Base for the wing commander and retired after 28 years. Dorothy loved gardening, quilting, cooking, and taking of everyone. She was a member of the Community Church in Lampasas. Survivors include son: John Duane McElhannon II and Tanya of Willis, TX Daughters: Brenda Roy and Jeff of Tacoma, WA Vicky Spillers of Orange Park, FL Debra Bailey of Tacoma, WA Brothers: Carlo Renzi of Centerville, MA Michael Renzi of Mattapoisett, MA Sister: Carol Schofield of Centerville, MA 6 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John McElhannon, her sister Sylvia, and two brothers, Julio and Jack. Visitation for Mrs. McElhannon will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Cremation to follow. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
