Edmond Straley

Edmond Dee Straley, age 76 of Adamsville, Texas died Monday April 15, 2013 at Rollins-Brook Hospital in Lampasas. Edmond was born September 20, 1936 in Lampasas, the son of Albert James Straley and Annie Mae (Beavers) Straley. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Edmond went to the Auto and Diesel Mechanics School in Nashville, Tennessee, and worked as a mechanic for many years. He was also a charter member of the Adamsville Fire Department. Edmond loved reading, shelling pecans, playing sports, and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a member of the Adamsville Baptist Church. Survivors include wife: Joyce Straley of Adamsville Son: James Straley of Evant Daughters: Sandra Doyle of Evant Donna Sue Straley of Lometa Barbara Straley of Evant Mary Garcia and husband Carlos of Lometa Brothers: Roy Straley of Lampasas Harroll Straley of Adamsville Carroll Straley of Welch, Texas Jackie Straley of Cedar Park Larry Straley of Adamsville Gery Straley and wife Marsha of Wolfforth, Texas Sisters: Betty Borg of Georgetown Wynell Creek of Adamsville Sue Hehman and husband Harvey of Taylor Nancy Campbell and husband Keith of Sangerville, Maine Sister in law: Barbara Straley 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews Edmond was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy, his brother Ray Straley, son in law Tony Doyle, and brothers in law Ronald Borg, Durwood Creek and Terry Britton. Visitation for Mr. Straley will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Adamsville Baptist Church in Adamsville, Texas. Burial will follow at Straley Cemetery in Adamsville.
