Lillian Cherry

Lillian Ruth Cherry, age 82 of Lampasas, Texas died December 29, 2012 at Bertram Nursing and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness with dementia. She was born January 22, 1930 in Plainview, TX, the daughter of Albert Brown Cherry Jr. and Nellie Agnes (Sheppard) Cherry. Lillian worked in the medical field for fifty years retiring as Assistant Medical Records Director. She began her career as a lab technician, then became certified as an AART and worked for a cardiac surgeon in Forth Worth, and then was a medical transcriptionist. Lillian spent two years setting up a Medical Records Department at the hospital in Abha, Saudi Arabia. She also was a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She descended from a long line of Texans who fought for and were dedicated to the establishment and preservation of Texas. Survivors include daughters; Jeanne Rives of Arlington Cynthia Kay Morris of Lampasas Granddaughters; Ginger McKay (Keith) of Mansfield Sue McAffe (Dennis) of Tyler Grandsons; Benjamin Rives of Grand Prairie Aaron Rives of Grand Prairie Dexter Morris of Lampasas Great-grandsons; Joshua and Nathan Vernon of Mansfield Ethan Rogers of Lampasas Great-granddaughters; Kinsey McKay of Mansfield Elizebeth Wadzeck of Tyler Madison Rives of Arlington Niece; Elizabeth Cherry Dowd of Ray City, GA Nephew; Billie Joe Cooper Jr. of Corpus Christi And many loving cousins Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, older brother; Robert Sheppard Cherry, and older sister; Dorothy Nell Copper Boullion. Lillian’s body will be cremated. Sneed Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements
