Lillian Ruth Cherry, age 82 of Lampasas, Texas died December 29, 2012 at Bertram Nursing and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness with dementia. She was born January 22, 1930 in Plainview, TX, the daughter of Albert Brown Cherry Jr. and Nellie Agnes (Sheppard) Cherry. Lillian worked in the medical field for fifty years retiring as Assistant Medical Records Director. She began her career as a lab technician, then became certified as an AART and worked for a cardiac surgeon in Forth Worth, and then was a medical transcriptionist. Lillian spent two years setting up a Medical Records Department at the hospital in Abha, Saudi Arabia. She also was a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She descended from a long line of Texans who fought for and were dedicated to the establishment and preservation of Texas.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, older brother; Robert Sheppard Cherry, and older sister; Dorothy Nell Copper Boullion.
Lillian’s body will be cremated.
