Jerry Max Goodson, age 71 of Lampasas, TX died suddenly Monday October 29, 2012 at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital. Jerry was born March 8, 1941 in Lampasas, TX the son of Gerald Max Goodson and Lola (Landrum) Goodson. He graduated from high school in 1959 and attended college. Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He became a surveyor and enjoyed a long career. He married Lila Hall on July 7, 1967 in Lampasas. Jerry was a member of School Creek Baptist Church and held professional memberships in the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (Past President in 1994), National Society of Professional Surveyors (Past President), was a certified land surveyor, member of Kiwanis Club, Masonic Lodge and local museum board. Jerry was appointed by Governor George Bush in 1995 to the state board of land surveyors. Survivors include: wife, Lila Goodson of Lampasas Daughter, Sarah Cooper of Delray Beach, Fla Grandson, Collin Cooper of Austin Sister, Patsy Stoneham and husband Henry of Lampasas 2 sisters-in-law, Wanda Monroe and husband Norris of Lometa and Judy Armstrong and husband Bill of Austin Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Jerry Goodson will be held on Saturday November 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will follow at Groves Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 2, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Jerry Goodson Memorial Scholarship Fund (to be established) Sneed Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements
