Josephine Berry

Josephine C. Berry, age 91 of Lampasas, TX formerly of Stephenville passed away Monday September 3, 2012 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Josephine was born October 13, 1920 in Burkburnett, TX the daughter of H.C. “Coot” Colbert and Evalyn May (Sorrells) Colbert. She graduated from Electra High School in 1939, and later married W.H. Berry on June 11, 1947 in Electra, TX. She was an office deputy for Erath County Sheriff’s Department and had worked in the water department for the City of Electra. She and W.H. had lived in Hearne, Seymour and Stephenville while he worked for D.P.S. Josephine was a 50 year member of the Greenthumb Garden Club. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Stephenville and current member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lampasas. Survivors include: daughter, Janice G. Perry of Lampasas 2 granddaughters; Jana Perry and Joni Perry of Lampasas Brother, H.L. Colbert of Dallas Sister, Glenda Patton and husband Bob of Dallas 2 nieces; Diane Naboltz of Dallas Elaine Sveen and husband Mike of Spartonberg, SC Nephew, John Patton and wife Jan of Rice, TX And several great nieces and nephews Visitation will be Tuesday September 4, 2012 from 5:30-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services for Josephine Berry will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at11:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, TX.
