Clifford Fred Wooten, age 85 of Lumberton, TX died Tuesday August 14, 2012 at his home. Clifford was born October 16, 1926 in Burnet County near Oakalla TX, the son of Floyd E. Wooton and Ruth E. (Williams) Wooten. He graduated from high school in Oakalla. In 1945 he joined the army, where he served over seas during World War II. After his time in the service, Clifford attended school at John Tarleton College. On October 24, 1950 Clifford married Patsy June Wilson. He worked with his dad on the LBJ dam construction, and later became a Commissary Officer at Ft. Hood and Regional Commissary Officer at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX.

Clifford was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy D’Ann, and by his wife Patsy.
Funeral services for Mr. Wooten will be held on Friday August 17, 2012 at10:00 a.m. at Dillingham Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday August 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at New Covenant Church in Lampasas. Visitation will be Thursday August 16, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
